Massage
Massage is a very old form of stimulation that contributes to improving the circulation and normalization of metabolism and normalisation of tissue of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, nerves and muscles. Some techniques even penetrate into our internal organs. By using various massage techniques and tools, massage can have very beneficial and preventive effects on both body and mind.
Below you can read about some of the forms that I use
(Click on name for more information)
• Classic connective tissue massage
This is a method in which the skin and underlying connective tissue are stimulated. This may be necessary if the subcutaneous connective tissue layer is sticking to surrounding structures, which can lead to reduced blood flow and function of muscles and organs.
• Sports massage
This is a massage where the emphasis is on improving the local blood flow. This type of massage is usually given just before or after sporting activities, to obtain the best performance possible or to recover more quickly.
• Ayurvedic massage
Ayurveda is a 5000 years old Indian healing method, which over time always have been practiced in India. The word "Ayur" means "Life" and "Veda" means "knowledge". Ayurveda means "knowledge of life". An Ayurvedic massage is a massage with warm herbal oil. This massage follows a classical Ayurvedic method. Ayurveda has its own massage techniques to use the oil on the body.
The herbal oil in Ayurveda are prepared according to the constitutional type.
The oil I use is traditional Ayurvedic herbal oil from India and is useful for all constitutional types. The herbs have a cleansing and strengthening effect.
I offer you the opportunity to recieve a full-body massage, or a part of it. After this massage you feel "complete" and deeply relaxed. In addition, the massage is vitalizing because the movements are quite fast.
• Hotstone massage
This massage is mainly used for two purposes. Because of the heat of the stones it is an extremely relaxing and stress reducing massage. Secondly, the heat often causes relaxation and because of this, internal "energy blockages" are positively influenced. In addition, the combination of the hardness and the warmth of a massage stone assure that the therapist can focus on a detailed field and can work in the depth.
Hotstones come in many shapes and sizes. Particularly the small stones the size of a finger tip are used between fingers and/or toes. They are also useful for treating head and neck. While the larger stones are mainly used for their heat transfer in the other areas: back / chest / abdomen / arms and legs.
Method: The stones are heated by placing them in warm water (up to 54-63 ° C) for a while . Then the therapist places the stones precisely those parts of the body where you want to use the warmth. It is important that the therapist places the stones when they are at the desired temperature, not too hot / too cold. Then the therapist can choose which "route", he chooses: it could be , after placing a number of stones, working with a massage stone to treat a particular area. Or he can choose to have the patient take a few minutes to relax before starting with the massage.
